Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy are hopeful that their new business would help the PGA Tour stop other players from switching to LIV Golf.

As previously mentioned, the official announcement that Woods and McIlroy were launching TMRW Sports, a technology-focused business with "modern approaches to sports, media, and entertainment," came on Tuesday.

In a statement, Woods said, "I'm pleased to be a part of this innovative new endeavour, which will leverage technology to bring new ways to the sport we love.

The PGA Tour and TMRW will be working together on "a new venture that will have the world's top golfers competing against each other in a non-green grass, stadium environment," according to a previous report by Eamon Lynch at Golfweek.

Despite the official announcement's lack of specifics, Lynch's previous report outlined how these two organisations will work together.

Beginning in 2024, the one-day competitions would complement the PGA Tour's calendar of events. These activities, which will reportedly be "technologically advanced and produced with a live audience — could last from January through March, with a finale held later," will reportedly take place.

There are still a tonne of unanswered questions regarding these unique events that are anticipated to draw golf fans while also keeping the best players on the PGA Tour so they can compete in these apparently profitable events.
