Americans have been gorging on hot dogs for around 150 years, according to the National Hot Dog and Sausage Council. Due to German immigration, modern-day hot dogs originally gained popularity in New York City in the 1860s.
Hot dogs had become a standard at ballparks and an integral component of American cuisine by the 1890s.
These days, many connect their favourite food with outdoor gatherings in the summer, fairs, camping excursions, and of course sporting events. An estimated 20 billion hot dogs are consumed annually in the United States.
So there are a lot of dogs. It's a good idea to select a hot dog that is as healthy as possible if you're one of the many people who will be adding to that astonishing amount of data because many hot dogs are manufactured with very subpar components.
