Creamy and Delicious Egg White Oatmeal
We talked about why you get hungry an hour or so after eating conventional oatmeal last week. Warning: You must include protein! To increase the protein content of your oatmeal, you can add a variety of ingredients. Last week, we discussed cottage cheese oatmeal, and this week, we’re talking about Egg White Oatmeal

101 Egg Whites
I’m referring to the thick, clear liquid that comes out of an egg when you crack it when I say “egg whites.” The yolk is the colored area of the egg. I crack the egg in half over a small dish, and then I move the yolk back and forth between the two shell halves to pretty easily separate the two. The white will detach and fall into a basin while the yolk will remain in the shells.
You can also purchase egg whites in a carton at the grocery store if you don’t want to break a lot of eggs and separate the whites from the yolks. Because I use organic egg whites for so many different recipes. I usually always have a carton in my refrigerator.

Egg White Nutrition
Egg whites are low in calories and abundant in protein. The egg whites provide 67 percent of the protein in eggs, according to Healthline. Egg whites are your buddy if you want a high protein, low-calorie meal; however, this does not make them better or worse than the egg yolk (the yolks offer a lot of fantastic nutrition too!).
Of course, you are more than welcome to use whole eggs in this recipe if you like. For the 1/4 cup of egg whites, I would substitute 1-2 entire eggs. Simply beat them in a small bowl and proceed as directed in the recipe, adding the whisked egg(s) when directed to add the egg whites.
Oatmeal doesn’t contain a lot of protein on its own, as was noted in the earlier postings about high-protein oatmeal. Because of this, you typically feel hungry a few hours after eating a bowl of plain oats. No longer! You’ll feel full and satisfied for a lot longer if you include protein (and good fats) in your breakfast. To boost the protein in baked oatmeal, you may also add egg whites! Egg whites should be included in your regular baked oats mixture before baking.

The ideal oatmeal for egg white addition is hot oatmeal. Egg whites should only be added to overnight oats if you want to cook them the following morning. To make stovetop egg white oatmeal, first cook the oats in the liquid until it has all been absorbed. Constantly whisk when adding the egg whites. The essential step of whisking is what prevents the eggs from scrambling and yields thick, fluffy oats. My preferred high-protein oatmeal option is egg white oatmeal because of its fluffy texture. It’s ideal for people who want to eat a lot and enjoy sitting down to a big bowl of oats.
